One Summer Student position is available in the Boundary thanks to financial support from the Canada Summer Jobs Program. The successful student will work under the mentorship and guidance of our Stewardship Manager for a 16 week period during May through August.


The Christina Lake Stewardship Society (CLSS) operates an office called the Community Stewardship Resource Centre and an Environmental Interpretive Gallery. The CLSS is involved in a variety of programs and projects which primarily consist of public education initiatives, collaboration with other agencies throughout southern British Columbia, and inventory and monitoring of our watershed and wildlife species.

Specific Skills Required: 

To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
Have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

Requirements for Stewardship Assistant Position:

Be pursuing a post-secondary education in the natural sciences and/or technology.
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License, vehicle, and a good driving record. 
Required to work a flexible 32 hour work week (including some evenings and weekends) for the full 16 week period.
Students must provide their own personal outdoor work gear, this includes items such as sturdy work boots, rain gear and sun protection. Personal protective safety gear will be provided by the employer as required for any specialized tasks.
