Attention Humanities and Social Science Students! If you’re passionate about having a creative and active summer job (funded partially through the Young Canada Works in Historic Organization Programs), the Boundary Museum & Interpretive Centre located in Grand Forks, British Columbia and the picturesque Kettle River Valley where outdoor recreation is abundant is looking for you!

One day a week will be spent at Christina Lake Welcome Center providing program as an outreach program to Christina Lake Area. 

You will have 2 half days of research time at the Archives where you will also have an opportunity to assist with research request direct to the Archivist.

The successful applicant will report to the Boundary Museum, and the other 2 half days and two full days will be spent to assist with the Museums projects and programs.  

Applicants must hold a current driver’s license:

  • • Have their own transportation
  • • be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • • a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada. Note: Non-Canadian students holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible;
  • • be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • • meet the eligibility criteria of the program for which you have been approved;
  • • be registered in the YCW on-line candidate inventory;
  • • be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
  • • not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW.

In addition, student participants in a Summer Work Experience program must:

  •  have been a full-time student (as defined by his or her educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW job;
  •  intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW job;

Note: Priority is given to candidates who have not previously participated in a summer work experience program.

Length of assignment: 2019-06- 25 to 2019-08-31 (9 to 10 weeks) pending start date
