Project Duration:   October 1, 2018 – January 18, 2019

Project Description:  Interior and exterior improvements to the Kettle River Bunkhouse building.  This building will be operated as a Hostel in Midway. 

Job Description:

  • Paint the upstairs (1440 sq.’ ceilings and all interior walls)
  • Perform tasks involving physical labour
  • Basic landscaping, site preparation, raking and shovelling, lifting
  • Operate a variety of hand tools including saws and hammers
  • Basic carpentry/construction (framing, sheeting interior wall)
  • Build, restore and assemble furniture
  • Design and construct feature walls

 

JCP Allowance:  $547/week (non insurable earnings)

Specific Skills Required: 

Applicants must be physically fit, enjoy basic construction, landscaping, painting, staining and working both indoors and outdoors.

Eligible participants must be unemployed and presently on Employment Insurance or have collected Employment Insurance during the past 5 years. 

Short listed applicants will require an assessment (Community Futures Boundary – WorkBC) to determine eligibility for the program.

Salary: 
$547/week (non insurable earnings)
