Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Museum Program and Exhibit Assistant will be responsible to meet and interact with visitors of many cultural backgrounds when conducting escorted tours through the many exhibits offered at the Boundary Museum and Interpretive Centre and answer the telephone as directed. The Assistant will work along  side the Bread making program and  work 2 days of the week at the Heritage Flour Mill.    The participant will be given their own opportunity to be in charge of their own project.  Research time will be made available with access to the Archives.  The successful Candidate will be in charge of the Christina Lake Homecoming display.

As part of our Museum’s Education Program,” Cultural Craft programs and living history demonstrations such  as bread making in an outdoor bread oven, flour making at the Heritage Flour Mill Indigenous Exhibit and Interpretation of the  Sinixt people and Salmon along with blacksmith trade by early settlers.  The successful candidate will learn agriculture preparation for hammer-milled flour & participate in local events.   we offer Throughout the summer, reunions, senior’s picnic and special events take p place on the grounds of the Museum and the Docent will assist with setting up venues under the supervision of the Manager of Operations.

In addition, the student will work   (2) six- hour days/per week at the GF Doukhobor Heritage Flour Mill welcoming visitors from 10 to 4 pm.  

Application Procedure:  Must be between the ages:  15 to 30 on the start date

START DATE: June 25, 2019

COMPLETION DATE:  August 18th, 2019

Wage:  $15.00 per hour

Note: Priority is given to candidates who have not previously participated in a summer work experience program.
