Community Futures Boundary is seeking qualified individuals to deliver group cohort training for specialized programs in Grand Forks.  The Employment Skills Facilitator will be responsible for developing and delivering workshops that assist participants in overcoming employment challenges.  The facilitator is responsible for enhancing and developing curriculum and materials utilizing a variety of technology and facilitation styles to enhance the learning experience.  Topics to include but not limited to; resumes & cover letters, job readiness, job search, assessments, employability skills, soft skills, life skills and essential skills in the workplace.  


  • Prepare and facilitate a series of workshop topics that assist participants to recognize skills and values, interests and aptitude related to career choices.
  • Guide participants in professional resume development, cover letters, employment references and interview techniques
  • Facilitate workshops that increase participants’ job maintenance skills such as communication and problem solving skills, employment and life skills, and soft skills.
  • Incorporate assessments and interpretation into workshops
  • Monitor client attendance and progress in workshops
  • Gather feedback from participants and implement changes or new workshops based on feedback
  • Evaluate and adapt curriculum to ensure effectiveness, relevance and quality to support participants in obtaining and maintaining employment.
  • Outreach into the business community to secure work experiences for participants
  • Provide verbal written reports to funders and key stakeholders as required


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering group workshops and individual learning services and successfully engaging learners to make the learning personally relevant.
  • Post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education or human resources management.)

Additional Requirements

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of client groups including specialized and marginalized populations.
  • Proficient with technology and a variety of computer software programs
  • Knowledge of job search strategies, tools, techniques and methodology
  • Knowledge of employment service providers and community referral agencies within the service area
  • Current knowledge of local and provincial labour market and business community/employer needs 
  • Familiarity with training methodologies and knowledge of various assessment tools
  • Clean Criminal Record Check


Hours for classroom delivery will vary by contract and average 6 hours daily, 5 days/week (Monday – Friday).  Contracts will vary in duration.
