The Cook/ Janitor will play an integral role on the Talking Little Feet Aboriginal Head Start team in Grand Forks, and will be responsible for the daily snack and meal preparation for the children attending the daycare as well as the daily cleaning of the centre. The successful candidate would be required to work a split shift five days a week. The required hours are as follows: 4 hrs cook/ program support and 2 hours janitorial after the centre closes at 4:30pm with some flexibility in the janitorial hours.

Extended health benefits available for positions 20 hours a week or more after probationary period is passed. Preference will be given to those with Aboriginal Ancestry as well as those candidates interested in both positions.

Specific Skills Required: 
  • Current Food Safe Certification
  • Current Emergency Child Care First Aid Certificate (preferred)
  • Current Criminal Record Check
  • Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • At least 2 years experience cooking for large groups
  • Takes initiative with the ability to plan ahead
  • Dependable and reliable
Terms of Employment: 
30 hours per week
$19.50 hourly
