Sunshine Valley Community Services is seeking a motivated and skilled on-call Community Inclusion Worker to join our Community Inclusion Team. The successful candidate will use their creativity, planning, networking and interpersonal skills to assist people with various barriers in living more independently and being able to participate more fully in their community. By joining our team, you will become part of a very fun and dynamic team that deliver a variety of community based supports and services to people with disabilities. This rewarding, but challenging position is available to anyone with the following preferred qualities and qualifications.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have completed Post Secondary education, preferably a Human Services Program, such as CCSW, HSW or CMHW or have equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
  • Minimum one-year previous experience working with people with various disabilities. including developmental, mental health, autism spectrum, cognitive and learning disorders.
  • Experience working with people with mental health diagnosis and possible dual diagnosis.
  • Clean Criminal record check, drivers abstract and First Aid required.
Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong community living values, good interpersonal skills, a high level of self-motivation, initiative, teamwork, organization and planning, good written and oral communication skills and knowledge of the community.
