Community Economic Development

Since its inception in 1992, Community Futures Boundary has established itself as a well respected, community based, non-profit organization that has played a leadership role in supporting the process of community economic development for the communities and residents of the Boundary region.  

Community Futures Boundary has significant experience working together with all levels of government, industry stakeholders, entrepreneurs and non profit organizations to initiate and carry out economic development projects that improve the overall socio-economic environment of the region. Our organization is actively engaged in the region and has helped build infrastructure within industries; accessed funding for community projects; coordinated community economic development events; provided small business support; created networks between businesses; facilitated new business starts and job creation opportunities; and promoted the Boundary Region through various marketing efforts. 

 

Economic Development Services – City of Grand Forks/Rural Grand Forks

Community Futures Boundary acts as First Point of Contact for Economic Development inquiries for Grand Forks.  In partnership with the City of Grand Forks and Rural Grand Forks (Area D), Community Futures Boundary has undertaken the development of an Economic Development Strategy/Work Plan.  An important component of the project is an Economic Development Advisory Committee representing key business sectors.  The Advisory Committee provides ongoing input into the work plan and will act in an advisory capacity for economic development work in the long term.
